Cycling Germany Alps: Donauworth - Fichtenberg 12 09 2020

When I get up it is damp with dew. There is a mist hanging over the water. I dry the tent before I leave at 9 am as usual. Because it is Saturday today, I am making extra savings in the net. On the advice, I change the route via the medieval town of nordlingen. This has a walled city center. The route also follows many river valleys and I have to climb to 500 meters. Then another steep descent follows where I have a lunch stop. The landscape changes into more forests with winding roads. Also many castles on top of the hills, among others near untergroningen. It will be a long day again because after 120 km I arrive at the campsite. I still have to cross a steep hill to descend to Waldsee again. The campsite is located in the forest. Facilities are ok, only the shower cubicles are a bit small without a dry hanging option. Cost 10.50.
