Reading & Northern 2102: The Pittston Pacemaker

Over the years the Reading & Northern railroad has greatly expanded upon its passenger program. New passenger cars, locomotives and parts of the system that haven't seen a passenger train in a number of years. One of these places was Pittston Pennsylvania. Upon the railroads famous Ex-Reading T-1 2102's trek to Tunkhannock, the powerful northern would power other excursions to Pittston for their annul Tomato Fest. We captured 2102 on the second of these excursions in the summer of 2025. It is always a sight to behold to watch 2102 charge up steep grades with its booming stalk talk and shirl whistles that cut through all sound.
