نيكول تانغ هي مصورةٌ صحفية مستقلة تخرجت من جامعة نيويورك عام 2009 حاملة شهادة في الصحافة والتاريخ وعملت بشكلٍ مستقل لصالح مجلات وصحف عالمية ومنظمات غير حكومية تُعنى بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط في المقام الأول. وغالباً ما يتمحور عملها حول الضحايا الأكثر تضرراً للنزاعات المسلحة والحروب وما تخلّفها من دمارٍ وخراب، إذ تغطي مواضيع تتراوح من الهجرة في الشرق الأوسط، وحتى اضطراب كرب ما بعد الصدمة الذي يعانيه المحاربون السابقون من السكّان الأصليين لأمريكا، وصولاً إلى انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان وحقوق المرأة. واشتملت جملة المواضيع التي غطتها خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية على الاحتجاجات المؤيدة للديمقراطية في هونغ كونغ، إلى جانب تركيزها على توثيق الغزو الروسي لأوكرانيا عام 2022 لصالح مجلات "هاربر"، و"واشنطن بوست"، و"نيويورك تايمز". وتقيم نيكول حالياً في إسطنبول بتركيا. Nicole Tung is a freelance photojournalist. She graduated from New York University in 2009 after studying journalism and history and working freelance for international publications and NGOs, primarily covering the Middle East. Her work often explores those most affected by conflict and the consequences of war, including migration across the Middle East, post-traumatic stress in Native American veterans, human rights abuses, and women’s rights. In recent years, she has followed the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, and in 2022, she documented the Russian invasion of Ukraine for Harper's Magazine, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. She is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
