Practicing Jazz Standards Is WAY Simpler Than You Think

Get the free PDF - How To Practice A Jazz Standard: 👉 https://go.thesound.kitchen/practice-... ⸻ Practicing jazz standards can feel overwhelming. Often the problem is understanding how to approach the tune in a way that helps you really hear what’s going on and improvise naturally and instinctively. In this video, we take the simplified roadmap from the last lesson and turn it into a real practice method: • grouping chords into larger key centres • practicing in 2-bar chunks • targeting the notes that actually define the harmony • and gradually building from simple foundations into real improvisation Instead of reacting to every chord individually, we’ll focus on hearing the overall shape of the tune and the movements that really matter. This lesson uses My Shining Hour as an example, but the process can be applied to almost any jazz standard. 🎼 Free PDF: 👉 https://go.thesound.kitchen/practice-...
