Jardines de Alfabia & Son Marroig (und die schönste Küstenstraße Mallorcas) - Ausflug auf Mallorca

We visit the Jardines de Alfabia - the gardens of Alfabia and admire the Moorish garden architecture. We then continue to Son Marroig via the Coll de Sóller pass and the MA-10. The diverse flora of the beautiful garden and the impressive irrigation system make it unique. Despite the many changes that have taken place over the decades, the Arabic influences can still be clearly seen today. We then drive over the Sóller Pass - the Coll de Sóller - into the Valley of Gold, where Sóller and Port de Sóller are located. There we take the MA-10 towards Valldemossa. The MA-10 is probably the most beautiful coastal road on Mallorca. It leads from Pollença via Sóller, Valldemossa, Banyalbufar to Andratx and winds up and down the serpentine mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana countless times. Shortly after Deia, we reach Son Marroig, the former main residence of Ludwig Salvator of Austria-Tuscany, Archduke of Austria and Prince of Tuscany. Ludwig Salvator was considered an erudite eccentric at the Viennese court. He preferred to devote himself to natural history than to life at court. He lived on Mallorca for many years, exploring and documenting the Balearic Islands as extensively as no one had ever done before. His seven-volume, 6,000-page monumental work "Die Balearen - in Wort und Bild geschildert" is still considered one of the most comprehensive of its kind. Son Marroig is particularly famous for its iconic white marble temple right on the cliff. This video is part of the series "Mallorca 2022".
