XT2 - The Inaugural Run
On the morning of the 8th of December, 2024. A train pulled out of the North Ballarat Alstom Workshop. Something that had been anticipated for many years. The first set of a new fleet of Suburban EMU trains for Melbourne’s Railway Network, and the name given to it, was the X-Trapolis 2.0, Also known as. The XT2. And the 5th set to be Delivered was given a special Honour. Departing Flinders Street Station at 9:06am with passengers on board, the set departed on its Inaugural run to Upfield and return.
