Tekin Akmansoy had this to say about the series: "In 1973, when we started preparing for 'Kaynanalar' (The Mothers-in-Laws), we worked solely at desks for a full month and a half. That's why we achieved success. Leman and I felt like we'd been together for forty years. Many people thought we were actually husband and wife. We were a good team. We always had fun." Where does that come from? It comes from his other grandfather. He's also my friend." Akmansoy's second marriage was to Meral Hanım. From this marriage, he had a daughter named Arzu. Like her father, Arzu Akmansoy pursued television and became a director. Tekin Akmansoy once spoke about his children in an interview: "My first wife owns a boutique in the US. We live with my second wife. She also graduated from Oxford. She works in television. The place where I feel most at peace is with my daughter. May God grant everyone a child like that.
