This June 3rd marks eight years since the 2018 eruption of the Fuego Volcano, considered the most violent eruption recorded by the volcano since 1974. The emergency left 201 people dead, 229 missing, and more than 1.7 million affected. Eight years later, the tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of strengthening monitoring, early warning systems, and evacuation plans.
