Going through pregnancy for the first time in Japan as a foreigner was not easy but it was a fulfilling experience. I was counting every day until I could finally meet my baby boy. In my third trimester, I watched a lot of birth vlogs to prepare myself mentally but in the end, my childbirth turned out to be nothing like what I expected. I would never have imagined I would be riding the ambulance for the first time in my life, got transferred to a different hospital, and had an unexpected induction at 38 weeks.
