Big Boy Steam Engine Continental Ohio June 6, 2026

Please, Please, Please stay off of the railroad tracks and back at least 25 feet for the safety of you, your loved ones, your pets, your drones and your community. Don't let an accident be what people remember and what the train crew and spectators have to potentiality witness and remember. Please follow the rules set forth by the railroad and follow the laws and rules for your drone usage. This is a historic event and not the last visit it is going to make this year! Big Boy No. 4014 is the world’s largest operating steam locomotive. Of the eight remaining Big Boys in existence today, No. 4014 is the only one still in operation. Union Pacific's famed Big Boy No. 4014, will journey to the East Coast this summer for the first time as part of a historic coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. The tour includes a Fourth of July celebration in Philadelphia, major display events in eight cities and more than 50 whistle-stops in 10 states, including stops for the first time in Indiana, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania. In addition to the public display days, rail fans can see this historic machine in action at over four dozen whistle-stops, generally 15- to 30- minutes long. This eastern leg will conclude the Big Boy's Coast-to-Coast 2026 tour. Earlier this spring, the Big Boy visited California with a stop at the Central Pacific's Milepost Zero in Sacramento where eastward construction of the transcontinental railroad began.
