Sportshots No. 16 Aka La Hornus / Le Horneuse (1933)
Titles read: "Sportshots - Popular sports and pastimes under the Cine-Camera lens - Described by Charles Eade of the 'Sunday Express'. This week Charles Eade Ventures into Switzerland for a very novel sport - ". Switzerland. Various shots of men playing a Swiss sport called La Hornus (sp? Le Horneuse?) in a field; the batting team swipe at a disc with a long pole (it looks something like golf at this stage), and the opposing team try and stop the disc with some large square bats or paddles. They throw their bats in the air to try and stop the disc as it flies past. Note: I cannot find the correct spelling for this sport - does anyone out there know?
