BRUNIG Lucerne to Interlaken & world's steepest rack PILATUS Bahn PB 1958/9

The 74km narrow-gauge Brünigbahn uses Riggenbach rack to cross the 1km high Brünig Pass. Mid route we ride the Pilatus world's steepest rack railway, which uses Locher dual cogs to climb 48% gradients to a height of over 2km. This original 8mm cine film shot during subsequent summers of 1958 and 1959, captures the authentic routes, livery, architecture and operations.
