Airbrush an Octopus Skull PART 2 Blending freehand details into masked areas

Tonight we continue the Octopus Skull project from my 2026 International Airbrush Days class. In Part 2, I’ll continue building the textures, depth, and lighting while combining vinyl mask techniques with freehand airbrushing to push the piece further toward a finished custom paint look. We’ll go deeper into: • Layering values and shadows • Blending freehand details into masked areas • Creating texture and depth • Building stronger contrast and focal points • Working through real-time adjustments as the artwork develops This project was designed to work as both a print-and-cut transfer and a traditional masking workflow, making it a versatile approach for all kinds of custom paint projects. Project vector files and reference images are available at: www.MackayFineArt.com www.AirbrushDownAndDirtyTricks.com https://mackayfineart.com/collections... Join me live tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern.
