All 20 LIRR EMD DM30AC Dual Mode Locomotives 500-522 Double Deckers Compilation with Great Horns

Labor Day Weekend Special: Here’s a compilation video of all remaining DM30AC locomotives in service with 20 total including an extra one that was converted into a DE30AC. The remaining DM30s are 500, 501, 502, 504, 505, 506, 508, 509, 510, 512, 513, 514, 515, 516, 517, 518, 519, 520, 521, and 522. Also 507 remains in service as 423 DE30AC. It was converted due to an electrical cabinet failure in the early 2010s. 503 had an accident where it hit a shopping cart then caught on fire in Huntington in Oct 2000 before I was born, that unit had the first modified horn in Nov 1999. 511 had an accident in May 2019 and was damaged. It is currently not being used in service and sitting in a yard for the last 6 years. That engine has a K5LLA horn. 511 was also one of the first units to get a K5LLA horn in 2012. I haven’t seen 522 in service recently at all even after searching on train time. There hasn’t been a new video of it in action since 6 months ago. I don’t know if that unit was taken out of service too or is just not being used for passenger use currently. These locomotives have a variety of horns including the majority with K5LL horns, a few K5LLA horns on 504, 507 (aka: DE30AC 423), 509, and 521, two K5L horns on 510 and 516 and a K5LA on 518. Out of the remaining units, all these units still retain their original EMD steel bells except for 518 which got an Ekyrail e-bell in 2020 then got a Graham White e-bell in 2023. #longislandrailroad #railroadcrossing #passengertrain
