Dr. Edward Covington, Emeritus Physician from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and Dr. Mark Sullivan, a Psychiatrist from Washington University in Seattle, review their article appearing in the October 2020 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where, representing a consensus panel of pain experts, they reviewed the challenges for safely tapering patients from opioids used for chronic pain.
