“Blessed art thou, O God, and Thou restest in the saints… And even me!”
VIDEO: • “Blessed art thou, O God, and Thou restest... On the second Sunday of Pentecost, all Orthodox Churches celebrate their beloved local saints, therefore we are celebrating all the Saints of Russia today. There is a common theme with every saint, no matter where or when they lived. For each one of them, the following, taken from an exclamation said at matins is true, and it will be true for us, as we struggle in our our poor way to become saints: “For holy art thou, O our God and Thou restest in the saints, and unto Thee we send up glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages.” My experience of as a priest has taught me that people need to know this and many do not know because their concept about themselves does not include the possibility of becoming a saint.
