The biggest attractions are certainly the sea and the beach, while the cult culinary specialties, contrary to appearances, are not fish, but Kołobrzeg cucumber. Here are some attractions of Kołobrzeg that are definitely worth seeing: 1. Lighthouse The first lighthouse was built in 1666. Light source obtained by burning rapeseed oil. The current one was erected in 1947 on the site of the lighthouse destroyed by the Germans during the war in 1945. The tower is 26 meters high and is an excellent vantage point with a panoramic view of the Baltic Sea and the port. 2. Pier The pier was built in 1881, and its structure stretched far out into the sea. Unfortunately, the pier was also destroyed during the last war. The new pier did not open until 1971. In the place of the old one, a new concrete pier, 220 meters long and 9 meters wide, was built. The pier is located in the Health Resort District, next to the Bałtyk sanatorium. 3. Promenade The promenade is a must-see for every tourist visiting Kołobrzeg. This boulevard is 500 meters long and stretches from the pier to the historic lighthouse. 4. Beach Kołobrzeg has a very nice, well-kept and wide beach. There are walking paths along it, which can be used regardless of the season. The beach is divided into three bathing areas: West Beach, Central Beach, East Beach. The total length of the city's beaches is over 700 meters. The main beach is at the pier, along with a promenade with catering facilities. 5. Sea Port There are five swimming pools in the port, the most attractive for tourists is the yacht pool, which is also a popular place for walks. Cruises on the coastal waters of the Baltic Sea are a tourist attraction. From here it is possible to travel by sea to the Danish island of Bornholm. The port in Kołobrzeg is famous for the largest cod catch in Poland. 6. Kołobrzeg Zdrój Even before the war, Kołobrzeg was famous for its brine springs, which are an important element in the regeneration of the human body. On the basis of these springs and thanks to their use in balneological treatments, Kołobrzeg is an important spa center. The city officially received the status of a health resort in 1967. You can get acquainted with Kołobrzeg brine using a public spring located on the Solna Island. 7. Monument of Poland's Wedding to the Sea The monument is located in the Park of Stefan Żeromski (Zdrojowy), on the Jan Szymański boulevard - a seaside promenade that leads from the lighthouse to the promenade in Kołobrzeg.
