We are workers too! | Home-Based Workers from SEWA Nagaland
Home Based Workers (HBWs) produces goods and services for the market from within and around their homes. In Nagaland, a large section of women HBWs are own-account/ self -employed workers, engaged in weaving textiles and stitching clothes, making craft products, processing and preparing food items, amongst others. They not only contribute to the family's income but also contribute significantly to the local and national economy, and yet they remain largely invisible, isolated and marginalised. In an effort to visibilise women HBWs in Nagaland, NEN has made this short video of women HBWs, who are members of a women workers' collective - SEWA Nagaland. . . . #northeastnetwork #nagaland #sewa #homebasedwork #selfemployed #selfemployedwomen #workingwoman
