I Built a Wooden Mountain Bike Rollercoaster Deep in the Bush
I’ve always wanted to build a backyard roller coaster for my mountain bike, so in this video I finally give it a go. The build starts on a mega seesaw over a barbed-wire fence, then drops into a full wooden roller-coaster section with dips, turns, and a jump into the valley. This took weeks of digging, cutting, measuring, fixing mistakes, and shaping the perfect flow. I’m stoked with how it turned out and crazy fun to ride on my mountain bike. 👕 Grab a Cutlaps Shirt and support the channel: www.cutlaps.com 🔗 My Gear HoverAir Drone - hoverair.sjv.io/xLbEkA Bluettie Power Station - https://www.bluettipower.com.au/disco... 🎵 Copyrighted music licensed from Lickd. This project combines MTB trail building, woodworking, and backyard engineering to create one of the most exciting features I’ve ever added to my property. If you’re interested in mountain bike trail building, DIY wooden features, or creating your own backyard MTB lines, this video shows the entire process from planning and measuring to cutting stringers, shaping curves, fixing mistakes, and preparing the landing. The roller coaster section includes dips, turns, a berm, and a jump, all hand-built using logs, tomato stakes for layout, and a lot of trial and error. It’s designed to be smooth, safe, and fun to ride, while still feeling thrilling. You’ll see how I mark out the track, cut bird’s-mouth joints, brace the structure, attach decking, and dial in the flow. I also share tips for getting smoother transitions, adjusting shapes as you go, and dealing with knots, uneven ground, and changing geometry. If you enjoy backyard MTB builds, wooden rollers, technical trail construction, and creative bike projects, you’ll love this one.
