Practicing Acoustic Guitar: June 2026 Progress

I'm 10 months into my guitar journey, and this is where my strumming is at today. For the first 3–4 months, I focused almost entirely on fingerpicking and music theory. Honestly, I convinced myself I'd never be able to strum properly and was perfectly content being "just a fingerstyle player." Looking back, that was probably a cop-out. So over the last few months, I've made a conscious effort to get better at strumming. I'm still far from great, but I'm improving, enjoying the process, and finally starting to feel comfortable with it. One thing I've learned about guitar: the skills that feel impossible today usually just need more reps. Still a long way to go, but that's part of the fun.
