Ten Private Cars on California Zephyr Led by AMTK 822

The westbound "California Zephyr" is running on time as it speeds into Agency, Iowa on September 10, 2016. Amtrak #5's engineer blows "Shave and a Haircut" from the horn just before it reaches the town. The lead locomotive is one of Amtrak's 40th anniversary units. This one, in the Phase III livery, is the only P40 that was specially painted. This is the second Amtrak heritage unit I've seen today:    • Eastbound California Zephyr with Amtrak 184  . Riding on the end of this "Zephyr" are ten private cars. This is the most I've ever seen on an Amtrak train. They are on their way to Denver to be part of a special excursion to Spokane, Washington for the annual convention of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners: http://www.aaprco.com/convention/2016....
