🥊 Community Spotlight with Hannah Beachum! 🥊

I am excited to bring to you my conversation with Hannah "Hammer Hannah" Beachum. Hannah holds a pivotal role in the Detroit Boxing Community. She is employed by KRONK Boxing Gym, trains out of Jabs Gym under Team K9. In addition, she is an advocate for female fighters, boxing as a sport and community. In Hannah's Round One, we cover her very first sparring session. She describes the experience of feeling one of the times in her life she felt the most alive. She absolutely fell in love with the sport after this session. She describes it almost as an out of body experience but instead she was the most present she has ever felt. With Round Two, Hannah and I discuss the crucial need for a multi-layer protection for fighters. We discuss health insurance, legal guidance, monetary contributions, safer match-ups, a union and so much more. If you have been following The Boxing Circle, you know this is a common theme that keeps reappearing. I hope the more often it comes up the faster the solution arrives. In Round Three, we time travel to see Hannah's friend, mentor and Coach K9 fight live! K9 is a friend of The Boxing Circle and I was absolutely delighted to hear of this pick. K9 is a pivotal pillar in the sport of boxing and I would be delighted to have seen him fight live! In Round Four, Hannah and I get deeper as she expresses her own love letter to boxing and all that it means to her. It's beautifully said and I won't do it justice here, so you'll have to watch. :) In our Championship Round, Hannah encourages fighters to keep showing up. This sport will give you so much; but you will need to show up and put in the work to get there! We round out the conversation with Hannah giving gratitude to all of her supporters, friends and family! It's easy to see why Hannah is so well liked in the boxing community.
