Exploring Venice’s iconic St Mark’s Square in the early morning to sunset. Walking through quiet St. Mark’s Square and the waterfront before the crowds arrive, and watching the town slowly waking up is the best way to start my morning in Venice. From the top of the Campanile (bell tower), the panoramic view of Venice and the lagoon is breathtaking! The interior of St. Mark’s Basilica is covered with golden mosaics, and the view from the upstairs terrace is one of the best! After seeing them, I was wandering the maze of narrow alleys, seeing the gondolas go by, and discovering the magic of Venice. Back to St. Mark’s Square at sunset, watching the last sun glow at the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore across the water and gondolas floating by… life is good!
