CLEANING AND STERILIZATION OF FEEDING BOTTLES | BEST CARE INTERNATIONAL & EDUCATIONAL CENTER

PROCEDURE 1. Clean the surface/ area you are going to work. 2. Gather the materials such as the basin, soap, brush for cleaning the feeding bottles and the dirty nipples. 3. Perform handwashing. 4. Put warm water on the basin then put a soap. Then form soapy suds. 5. Clean the inner side of the bottle-feeding using bottle brush. 6. Clean the crown and cap thoroughly. Clean the teat using nipple brush. 7. Soak and rinse the bottle to other basin to totally remove the soap. 8. Stand the bottles on a clean surface and prepare for sterilization. STERILIZATION USING A LARGE PAN 1. If using large pan put water on the large pan preferably ¾ of the entire container. 2. Bring water to a rolling boil and place the cleaned feeding bottles. Make sure that the equipment is completely covered with water. 3. When the water reached its boiling point, shift the heat to low and start timing for 15-20 minutes. 4. Put the cap and teat on the boiling water and wait for another 5 minutes. AFTER THE STEAMING/ BOILING PROCESS 1. After the steaming process, open the cover of the sterilizer away from your face. 2. Get the feeding bottles from the sterilizer/pan using tong and place them in a clean tray or in a bottle holder/rack and allow to dry. 3. Aftercare.
