Welcome back 3830 is an enthusiasts' preview of the return of NSWGR steam locomotive 3830. hoto Rossan Welcome back 3830 back Welcome PREVIEW The restoration of 3830 was a joint undertaking of the Powerhouse Museum, owners of the locomotive, and 3801 Limited. The camerawork by Bevan Wall commences in May 1992 after removal of asbestos from the boiler. It includes steam trials on "The Cockatoo Run" and the triumphant doubleheading run with 3801 from Maitland to Sydney on 25 October 1997. leganck 3830 ECCATO This footage is a sample of the content to be included in a later production which will tell the full story of the restoration.
