This stove is a copy of the Swedish OPTIMUS stove, except that the Optimus stove has a 1 kW burner, while the Russian model has a 2 kW burner. Due to its primitive design, this Primus stove is extremely reliable and undemanding of fuel quality. It runs perfectly on extremely low-grade gasoline, and there are no problems with nozzle clogging, let alone fuel channels. Another advantage is its price. Even a brand new Primus PT1 can be purchased at a flea market for next to nothing. However, this gasoline stove also has its own problems. Like everything Soviet, the Primus PT1 stove needs a new owner to work on it and fix its flaws. I've been using this gasoline stove for several years on winter hikes, and I'm quite happy with it. Naturally, I'm looking at modern multi-fuel stoves, which are both more convenient and more economical.
