Rosemaling Monochromatic Blues- Fjord horse-Freehand painting -Art of Lise - ASMR -its' just paint

Welcome Back to Art of Lise! I hope you enjoy some freehand painting fun in my studio today. I just finished teaching a Transparent Freehand Telemark Study on a white sandwich board through my zoom classes and realized that I still had paint left over. What a great opportunity then to do a video demonstrating freehand rosemaling on this wonderful wooden Fjord horse that was made by Mike Lusk from www.luskscandiawoodworks.com. Today my palette uses the following colors - all JoSonja brand paints by Chroma Inc. - Aqua, Prussian Blue, Carbon Black and I mentioned Burnt Sienna as well. Brushes - 4 round - Kingart 9000 10/0 Kingart mid length liner (9375). Medium - 1:1:1 ration - Retarder medium, glaze medium, Flow Medium - again all from the JoSonja line from Chroma Inc. Rosemaling is the traditional painted decorative folk art from Norway that began in the 1600's. Because of Norway's mountainous terrain and hundreds of valleys, the people of Norway had many dialects, native costume, traditions, ext. Norway also had a wealth of artisan traditions to draw from dating from the Viking era. When decorative painting styles reached Norway in the 1600's, it went into all this different areas and created over 15 different styles of Rosemaling, hence making it one of the most interesting folk arts to learn about and to paint.
