No walks- after four balls the batter gets a fungo attempt (tossing up to himself). No mound visits. Batter cannot step out of the batters box. Coaches can wave a flag to challenge a call, and the fans will vote to confirm or overturn. Each coach has one per half. Each team will bat ten hitters in the day game (full lineup + extra hitter), and 11 hitters in the night game (full lineup + extra hitter + cosmic hitter). Coaches can change the cosmic hitter throughout the night game. Cosmic Baseball Game Variations Three Minutes of Chaos: For three minutes, starting at the first pitch of the top and bottom of the third inning, any ball in the ballpark is a ball in play. If the ball is hit into foul territory, it’s live. If its hit into the stands foul, its live and up to the fans to get it to the players. We will have players stationed in the stands throughout the ballpark telling fans what to do and where to give the ball. The fan catching the ball does not result in an out, it is still live. Home runs remain home runs. When the time expires, we go back to normal gameplay. Backwards Basepaths: For the entirety of the second inning, the bases are run in reverse. Third base becomes first base, and vice versa. Unceremonious First Pitch: The first pitch of the game will be thrown by a random fan, and it will be a live pitch to the leadoff hitter of the away team. Home vs Away Challenge: There will be a pre-game competition to determine which team is home and which team is away.
