Terminus Episode 177 - The Sexiest Rockers of 95 - Danzig and Type O Negative Part 1

After months slaving away in the meme dungeons, we finally emerge with the complete audiovisual spectacle for our tribute to America's gothic metal overlords -- Glenn Danzig and Pete Steele. In this first part, The Black Metal Guy presents his Greater Unified Danzig/Steele Theory, in which Steele makes imitation into a creative virtue, building his career as a sinister mirror of Danzig's. Despite the almost-mainstream success of their later, more accessible bands, both played pivotal roles in the origin of extreme music. So, we start off with the Misfits, Carnivore, Samhain, and Repulsion (NY), tracing the lineage of 80s American metalpunk and its influence on the 90s barbarian black metal we all know and love. After that, we roll into the birth of the mature Danzig and Type O sounds, before exploring some lesser-known personal and ideological connections between these two artists. In Part II, we'll bring it home to more familiar Terminus territory, with in-depth reviews of Danzig I and World Coming Down. 0:00:00 - Intro/The Greater Unified Danzig/Steele Theory 0:40:24 - Interlude - Carnivore - “Carnivore” fr.
