They either get the drug prescribed by a doctor or obtain it from shady websites that usually only appear in spam folders. However, all of that is a thing of the past, especially since the launch of Viagra Connect in March 2019. This is a version of Viagra that is available without a prescription in British pharmacies, generated over five million pounds in its first twelve weeks, and is marketed specifically to young men on trendy websites. Marketing is being modernized, and doctor's appointments are no longer so embarrassing. As a result, more and more young men are taking Viagra, even though they don't suffer from erectile dysfunction. Annual sales of Viagra and competing products now exceed five billion dollars. And no other drug is more frequently counterfeited. In our new documentary, 24-year-old Obi, who occasionally takes Viagra himself, wants to find out what's behind the resurgence of erectile dysfunction and what risks young men like him take when they pop potency drugs without actually needing them.
