I used leg and thigh pieces. 316 gm/ 11 oz red ripe tomatoes. If tomatoes are not in season you can even use half a cup of canned crushed tomatoes or 1/3 rd cup tomato puree 420 gm/ 15 oz red or any variety of onions 30 gms / 1 oz/ 8 large cloves of garlic 30 gm ginger 4 green chillies (optional). One used to make paste and the other 3 used whole in gravy 470 gm/ 5 small potatoes cut into halves. Please cut into quarters if using large potatoes. 1 heaped tablespoon ground coriander (dhania powder) 1 teaspoon ground cumin (jeera powder) 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 2 teaspoons kashmiri red chilli powder or you can use paprika if you want to avoid the heat. Please adjust proportion of chilli powder according to your preference.
