"This is America, Jack!": Whiteness as Identity, Culture, Economics, and Political Discourse

[The BigPotz Podcast (Ep. 8) Ft. Prof. Anjan Basu] On today's episode, I interview my friend and fellow literary scholar, Prof. Anjan Basu. Anjan is an Afrofuturism scholar whose research seeks to articulate African American literary discourses about whiteness. He is currently finishing his dissertation in English Literature at Howard University. His scholarship merges: African American Literature, Whiteness Studies, and Post-Colonial Studies into a conversation about American identity and literary discourses. Anjan has been an instructor and academic professional at North Carolina A&T State University for the past 20 years. Our conversation here unpacks surviving contemporary whiteness, alternative social politics, and his research using the "Wakanda" mythos as a literary map of the history of western imperialism.
