Its most iconic features are the huge aqueduct (Aqueduto das Águas Livres), an almost 300 year old structure bringing water from the outskirts into the city, and the train station, connecting Lisbon to most destinations to the south. This is a peaceful neighbourhood, and through it run some of the main roads in the capital.
