“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.” (Revelation 19:6) Revelation 19 reveals the final scene of history. The world’s systems, once standing in defiance of God with all their splendor, ultimately collapse. And in that moment, a great song of praise bursts forth from heaven. The apostle John describes it as “the roar of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder.” It is not the song of a few, but the praise of all heaven proclaiming the salvation accomplished by God. The message of that praise is simple: “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.” It is the moment when the reign of God—who has always been King—is fully revealed to the whole world. After human power, history, and every visible order have passed away, only one confession remains: that God reigns, and eternal praise belongs to Him. Following this declaration, a scene of joy unfolds. Scripture describes it as the wedding feast of the Lamb. In the fullness of God’s kingdom, the Church, as the Bride, will take part in this joyful feast with Jesus Christ, the Lamb. “Eternal Hallelujah” is the Church’s confession, singing in advance the praise that will resound on that day. We are still living in a time where the kingdom is not yet fully revealed. At times, we walk through history we cannot understand and suffering we cannot explain. Yet Scripture promises: at the end of all things, the reign of God will be fully revealed, and on that day, all heaven and the Church will lift one voice in praise. As we long for that day, even now in our lives, not tomorrow, but today, we choose joy and sing. Following in the footsteps of Jesus who has gone before us, we rise as a banner and sing. Not only for today, but for a lifetime, we will praise the Lord. Hallelujah. The Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
