RAGBRAI 2025: Part 1 (The Fellowship of the Ride)-Nam and Jarrod's Journey Across the Midwest Begins

In July of 2025, the two of us (Nam and Jarrod) set off on our 3rd RAGBRAI together in RAGBRAI 52! This year was looking to be slightly easier with a flatter route, but (spoiler warning), it ended up having it's own challenges of its own! With that said, we met up with a crew of 4 others, piled our bags into our support vehicle, and set out to Orange City to begin yet another RAGBRAI! Day 0 (the day of the Expo) provided a chance for us to meet up with numerous other members of our team- Team Stray Dogs! What had started as an idea 3 years prior had now grown into a Facebook group of 500+ members, and had turned into a full team with official jerseys and swag! We also added a new tradition to Expo Day- something that we're hoping to continue in the coming years! The 1st day of RAGBRAI was pretty manageable- about 72 miles from Orange City to Milford! With the route being a little flatter and the sun not beating down as hard, a lot more fun was had for sure, and we joined with thousands of other cyclists whose ultimate goal was to make it to the Mississippi by the end of the week!
