Solo Female in Agabalou Morocco | The Real Rif Mountains Off The Beaten Path. I wandered into Agabalou, a tiny village in northern Morocco that most tourists never see. This is the real Morocco, far from the crowds. Just me, the fields, the zinc houses, and a silence you can actually feel. Peace, calm, serenity... you don’t get this in the city. The villagers were incredibly welcoming. The women in their beautiful traditional outfits were going about their daily life, and I just stopped to watch the sunset with the goats and cows heading home. Pure magic. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. But a quick note: always take precautions and don’t wander too far from the village. Agabalou is about 20 km from Chefchaouen, "the Blue City".
