She made a Bald Eagle from Cutlery
One thing I found when making this scrap metal sculpture is that I did not want to weld the bird to a base, because it was to fun to hold (makes me feel very cool to hold it). So I had to come up with a way for it to detach. All in all, it was a fun art piece to make. :) Website https://www.bruisedreedstudio.com/ Instagram / bruised_reed_studio Facebook / bruisedreedstudio For this project I used cutlery for the wings, old washers for the chest, and bike gears, chainsaw blade, and other bits of scrap metal for the head. Tig welded everything together except for a little mig on the base. Used an oxy acetylene torch for a little heating and bending and for coloring the wings. Overall, making trash look like wildlife is so fun to do.
