Product Review ScaleTrains HO AC4400CW SP - Powerful HO Scale Engine! General Electric's AC4400CW locomotive was the AC traction counterpart to GE's C44-9W six-axle freight locomotive. Southern Pacific's last and biggest order for new locomotives was for 279 brand new AC4400CWs from GE. These units were delivered in 1995. Most of these units kept working for new owner Union Pacific after the 1996 merger. Many kept their SP paint for years beyond that. This model train runs well and is loaded with detail. It's also a beast, with amazing pulling power! As usual, after the unboxing, Dan evaluates the model’s packaging, prototype accuracy, paint & detail, and how well it operates and conforms to applicable standards.
