The song primarily uses two easy chords: E and F sharp minor. F#m can be played as a barre chord, but I also have an easy way to play F#m that turns this song into one of the easiest songs on guitar. We practice the chord shapes, we practice switching between them, counting along and then we add a strumming pattern, which is also very easy, as there's no syncopation or off-beat feeling. We learn to count it out and then we add it to our chords, playing the strumming pattern four times per chord shape. We play the chorus together and then we move on to learn the verse. The verse is almost the exact same thing as the chorus except there's a couple sections where we strum the chord, let it ring out, and count. These counting sections are the hardest part of the song. We work through it going through each one of them and then we play the verse and chorus together so you can see how it all fits. The bridge requires one new chord shape, B7. We switch from E to B7 and back to E, and that's the entire bridge. Finally, we put the whole thing together playing through each section like we would in the tune - nice and slow! If you'd like to practice the entire song with me, there's a full playthrough available on my Patreon page, where I play through the entire song, start to finish.
