Circuit trouble - joining a circuit at a UK uncontrolled airfield
The Flying Reporter shows how he joins a busy circuit at an uncontrolled airfield in the UK. Peterborough Connington is a busy airfield with an air-ground radio operator. In the UK, this class of aerodrome means pilots make all the decisions, after receiving aerodrome information from the radio operator. The operator, is not a 'controller'. Having followed the published procedure, and faced with a busy circuit with aircraft arriving directly onto downwind, I found it difficult to integrate. My eyes were also letting me down, because I couldn't see most of the joining traffic. At one point I thought I must have navigated to the wrong airport! On arrival, the staff were extremely helpful. The food was freshly prepared with a smile. Join me on Facebook: www.facebook.com/theflyingreporter Read more about me and my flights: http://www.jonhunt.net/2016/06/video-...
