How I Photograph Protests as a Photojournalist

I've photographed a few hundred protests as a photojournalist and in this video I share what I've learned from more than 25 years in the field. We'll address the role of the photojournalist vs that of a documentary photographer, ethics, strategy, safety, cliches and more. Most protests are peaceful without incident. Some feature small skirmishes and some larger confrontations. On rare occasions, violence may reach a point where the protest becomes a riot and law enforcement may declare a gathering unlawful.
