UTI is very common and symptoms of UTI include Pain in passing urine ,urgency ,dysuria flank pain ,fever ,Hematuria and obstruction of urinary tract. Diagnosis is based on History Labs ,urine complete & culture , CBC. RFT and some other tests. Common Causes include female sex , oldage , diabetes , CKD. Reflux. Neurogenic bladder, MS/ CVA, UTO, folley Cath. CIC, PKD. Stents. Post transplant. Stones. If left untreated can cause Complications like sepsis. Pylo. Abscess. Bacteremia. Treatment. Antibiotics based on culture but best is prevention Prevention. Prophylaxis if more than 3 episodes per year ,Treat the underlying cause. Decrease folley catheter , good bladder habits, cleaning , water. Cranberry etc You must see your nephrologist ASAP
