An Evening with DreamWorks Animation: The Look of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Join us for a look inside the hit film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish with an amazing team of artists from DreamWorks Animation! The Academy Award-nominated sequel was released last year and found the hero cat trying to restore the first eight of his nine lives. Helping to bring his journey to life were VFX Supervisor Mark Edwards, Head of Character Animation Ludovic Bouancheau, Effects Lead (and Gnomon graduate) David Chow, CG Supervisor Sondra Verlander, and CFX Artist Pramita Mukherjee, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Gnomon Stage! During this event, our panel breaks down their work and shares shots from the giant fight and the final wolf battle. Viewers will hear about the decision to use stepped animation along with additional line work, the challenges surrounding the chains and fur, and how the unique painterly look and graphic scenes were generated!
