Balmer Series and Rydberg Equation | Professor Adam Teaches

Balmer series and associated Rydberg formula describe atomic emissions from the hydrogen (and hydrogen like atoms). The Balmer series consists of atomic transitions visible to the naked eye. There are 6 visible lines. The transitions are all from a higher principle quantum number to the n=2 level. The Balmer equation is a specific example of the Rydberg equation. ************************************* Media credits Hydrogen emission spectrum: By Jan Homann - Own work, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index...
