Sacred Spaces - Ranaan Meyers & Peter Dugan

On the third day of this week's program, students and their mentors alike performed at the Honeywell House for Academy Club Members and key people in the Honeywell Foundation and Community. Showing off their 'bag of tricks', techniques, and collaborative work all from the last few days, Raanan Meyers and Peter Dugan wanted to close out with a song about Indiana itself. Inspired by Indiana Landmarks, Literature of Sacred Spaces, and Richard Ford, Ranaan talks about how “in these sacred spaces, there's sometimes this feeling where it's more than just the people walking on this earth. For more than 18 years, Honeywell Arts Academy has provided a life-changing experience for both students and faculty. Each summer, musicians from around the world gather in Wabash, Indiana, to learn from world-class mentors, collaborate with passionate peers, and explore new approaches to music-making. Through mentorship, performance opportunities, and cross-genre collaboration, participants build lasting connections with fellow artists and industry professionals. During the summer of 2024, I worked as a videography intern under Emily Meyer, capturing and creating behind-the-scenes content that highlighted the creativity, dedication, and hard work taking place throughout the program. This second week focuses on the Soundboard program, A global piano experience led by Matti Raekallio and Peter Dugan. The program brought together musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines, showing how different musical styles and ideas could thrive. This video showcases rehearsals, workshops, performances, and behind-the-scenes moments from the first week of Honeywell Arts Academy 2024.
