AFTERNOON TEA AT DOWNTON ABBEY (HIGHCLERE CASTLE)// Happy Tuesday lovely people, Today we're finally sharing our visit to Highclere Castle in Hampshire also known as Downton Abbey! We were so so excited as we had to reschedule our visit 3 times due to Covid. Highclere Castle is the country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon. The 5th Earl of Carnarvon was the chief financial backer on many of Howard Carter's Egyptian excavations and known for the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. There's also an Egyptian exhibition which gives you a lot of insight and amazing replicas. Egypt holds a special place in my heart since I (Kirsten) lived there with my parents as a teenager. As huge Downton Abbey fans, this place is even more beautiful in person but even if you haven't watched the series, the house is magical. To make our visit even more memorable, we also booked a traditional English Afternoon Tea at the Coach House, one of the real British traditions. You have to book in advance and they also offer a gluten free option. We hope you will enjoy the video.
