I Rebuilt My Retro Handheld in PREMIUM Aluminum (USB-C Mod!)

Five years ago, I built this custom FreePlay CM3 retro handheld. Today, we are completely rebuilding it from the ground up! Watch me ditch the old plastic shell and outdated Micro-USB for a premium BoxyPixel anodized aluminum case, a custom 3D-printed backplate, and a surgical USB-C power delivery mod. Although this uses an older processing setup, upgrading it with premium machining and modern power delivery proves it can bring absolute enjoyment to anyone in 2026. Let me know in the comments if you want to see a full software optimization guide for the Compute Module 3+ in the next video! ⏳ Timestamps: 0:00 The 2026 Workshop Rule (Goodbye Micro-USB) 0:50 Retrospective: The 2019 Plastic Enclosure 1:45 Soldering the Custom USB-C Breakout Mod 3:00 3D Printing the Custom Branded Backplate 3:45 Polishing the Aluminum Buttons 4:15 ASMR Cinematic Metal Assembly Montage 5:15 Hardware Verdict: Is Older Tech Still Worth Rebuilding? 🛠️ Parts & Tools Used: Boxy Pixel GBA Aluminum Shell: https://www.boxypixel.com/products/me...
