For the past two years, I've been explaining how to write prompts and create good ones. Now for the bad news: writing prompts alone doesn't mean anything anymore. The good news: it wasn't wasted, it just got promoted. In this video, I'm explaining the transition from prompt engineering to loop engineering. If you're spending half an hour trying to write the perfect prompt for AI, constantly telling it to "fix this, change that," the problem isn't with your prompt. The problem is that you're still thinking of it as a one-shot question. The perfect output doesn't come from a single shot, it comes from a loop. I'll show you the difference: an open loop has one instruction, one output, no control. A closed loop, on the other hand, generates the output, tests it against the criteria you set, corrects any shortcomings, and repeats until the criteria are met. Generate, evaluate, correct, repeat. I'll illustrate with four real-world examples; you can copy and use them all: an email asking your boss for a raise, preparing a presentation, learning a new topic, and deciding between two job offers.
