TOWIE's Chloe Lewis describes moment son's finger was cut off by ice skater

Children will have to wear gloves at Planet Ice skating rinks after The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Lewis started a petition when her six-year-old son lost part of a finger on the ice. Ms Lewis's son, Beau, was rushed to the hospital on New Year's Eve after he fell over and another skater accidentally skated over his finger. The accident did not happen in a Planet Ice rink. Now Planet Ice, the biggest ice rink operator in the UK, has decided to change its rules. There will be "mandatory standard glove wearing for children under 12 at all Planet Ice rinks throughout the UK from June 1," the company said in a statement. The gloves are being sold to the customer at cost price (£1) on entry, alternatively, customers can also bring their own gloves to wear, Planet Ice said. "Glove wearing will be policed by on-ice stewards throughout skating sessions," the organisation added. The incident with Ms Lewis's son did not happen at one of their venues. The TOWIE star is now trying to take this one step further, launching a petition for the government to make glove-wearing compulsory across all ice-skating rinks.
