Come with me and explore culture, connection and life through Spanish dance. Today, we're dancing to a powerful and dramatic piece of music called Asturias. The music calls for strength and dynamism, and that is what you see us training for here. Asturias is a beautiful dance that my maestra, Paloma Gómez from Madrid, taught me, and which I now pass on to my students. On the surface, it might seem like you're simply learning steps. But pause for a moment and consider this: you're receiving an inheritance of art that has been passed down through time. It fills me with wonder when I think about that. Through my years in Spain, learning and working with my maestros, living with the locals, dance paved the way for much more. Beyond the studio, it became a way to keep growing, sow meaningful relationships and experience a wider world.
